In 1998, La Monnaie seized the unique opportunity to bring together all the workshops and rehearsal rooms that were scattered throughout the city in a small neo-classical building on Rue Léopold behind the theatre. The space was reorganised according to the needs of each workshop: surface, light, technical requirements and safety. An assembly room with the dimensions of the stage rises in the centre of the building to a height of three storeys, surrounded by the carpentry and ironwork, sculpture and props workshops. All the workshops needed for the costumes occupy the fifth floor. Painting and tapestry are located on the first floor.
